The mass of an item is the amount of matter it comprises.
The weight of an item is the heaviness of the matter. The standard
units of mass with which you should be familiar are: U.S.: ounce, pound,
and ton Metric: gram, milligram, and kilogram
The temperature is the degree of hotness or coolness. The
standard units of temperature with which you should be familiar are:
U.S.:
Fahrenheit (water freezes as 32°F and boils at 212°F)
Metric: Celsius (water freezes at 0°C and boils at 100°C)
You should also know the metric prefixes: kilo (times 1,000); hecto
(times 100); deka (times 10) deci (times 1/10); centi (times 1/100);
milli (times 1/1,000)
