There are many problems throughout the text labeled IN YOUR OWN WORDS.
Just relax. Do not be afraid to give your opinion. For the most part,
these questions do not have "right" or "wrong" answers. You should spend
about five minutes in answering each of these questions. Look at Example
4 when answering Problem 4.
See Example 6; remember that the degree of a term is the number of variable
factors in that term.
See Examples 5 and 7; remember that the degree of a polynomial is the
largest degree of any of its terms. A polynomial with one term is called
a monomial, one with two terms is a binomial, or with three terms a trinomial.
See Examples 1, 2, and 3.

You may need to review some of the material in Section 2.1 and Table
2.1.
One of the most difficult parts of word problem is taking the time to
read what they actually ask. The best homework hint for these problems
is to read slowly, reread, answer, and then read the problem again to
make sure you have answered the question that was asked.
Note: Homework Hints are given only for the levels 1 and 2 problems.
