Section 2.5 Reference Topics
This site presents the "three door problem" with some links. This is in interesting
variation of the Odd Ball Problem of Example 1.

This site gives still another variation of the door problem, which is similar to
"The Prisoner Problem" of Example 3 in the text. Suppose a prisoner is in a room with two
doors. One door leads to death and the other door leads to safety. There is a guard on
each door, and one of the guards is a liar. The prisoner needs to find out which door
leads to safely and is allowed to ask a single question of both guards. The question
can only be answered by "yes" or "no" and the prisoner does not know which guard is the
liar. What question should the prisoner ask?
